“ All of the food was phenomenal, comparable to a fine dining experience. Restaurant is set right at a vineyard, staff were friendly eventhough we barely spoke french. ”
“ We've organised our wedding lunch in October in La robe rouge and everything was fantastic: - the aperitif on the little terrasse in front of the vineyard - the private room upstairs decorated with style - the food and wines - the dessert back outside on a lovely long table We're so grateful we chose la robe rouge for this special event. Thanks again to the team for making it so special. ”
“ Weather not good enough to sit on their lovely terrace so sat upstairs which was delightful and quirky. 6 course taster menu was beautiful all served and explained in very good English by our lovely waiter whose name I have no hope of spelling correctly Aluiam? ”
“ Despite a power outage the service and food was perfect. We had a perfect dinner. They serve different kinds of 3 to 7 course menu. So, the choice is yours. ”
“ It was our first evening in Beaujolais and we decided to celebrate with a special dinner at Robe Rouge. The setting - nestled in the middle of a vineyard - is absolutely gorgeous. As it was summer, we sat on the terrace and enjoyed the views with some excellent Morgon wine from the local vineyards. We had a delicious meal with stunning views. We would highly recommend the tomato salad starter and the fish main, they were particularly good. We were also very happy with the service, which was very friendly. ”
“ Amazing!! One of our best meals in France. We will probably come back tomorrow. This place deserves a Michelin star/plate. Incredible meal & service start to finish. ”
“ Just one hiccup The restaurant, which was previously a lime kiln, was located a few minutes drive from Chateau de Pizay where we staying It is in the countryside overlooking the vines of Domain Guignier - it is family run. The Head Chef Thomas Guignier is the son of fourth generation proprietor or vigneron of Domain Guignier. The restaurant serves up a selection of their family as well as other Beaujolais wines which are also available for tasting and purchase in the cellar downstairs which includes a table d'hote You are welcomed by an elegant charming member of staff and yes in a red robe. There are many aspects of the restaurant which are red including outdoor umbrellas chairs to name a few.It honours its name. The menu changes every two weeks to focus on seasonal vegetables and there was a choice of menus and combinations to cater for all tastes We had the €33 three course menu which was excellent value.`this was wholesome healthy local country fare and at that price you would not expect gastronomy or fine dining. We were surprised that a large chunk of pineapple accompanied the pork particularly as the restaurant prides itself in local produce - why not apricot or apple puree Champagne by the glass €9 was very reasonably priced The service was efficient professional and it was an intimate comfortable atmosphere We wanted to give the restaurant five stars but were somewhat shocked by the state of table napkins/serviettes which we highlighted to member of staff - it is not a good look and as a first impression it is incongruous and it is sometimes the little details like this you remember and not the culinary experience ”
“ Wonderful food in a beautiful setting. We had lunch on the terrace, looking out onto the vineyards. With the umbrellas it’s possible to sit comfortably in the heat of the sun and enjoy the stunning food and scenery. The set menus are delightful, and they adapted one of the menus for vegetarians. Really delicate flavours and new dishes we have never tried before. We needed to book by phone, so keep this in mind and book ahead!! ”
